


SUMMER CAMP Hours: 9:00am to 11:30am Monday through Friday. Join us for a summer filled with unique art opportunities led by a friendly STAFF of both professional artists and art professionals who are certified in their areas of expertise. Creativity is encouraged as children are allowed to express themselves while learning how to use art materials and techniques. They will be working with a large variety of materials including clay, paint, found objects, oil pastels, markers and more. Snacks will be provided each day. Cost is $135 for a full week of classes. Daily classes are $35. See below. Sibling discount of 25% - 1 per family. Limited scholarships available for low income families. |
Week 1 June 15 – 19 Ages 6 and up. Mural Painting: Meet great artists; learn styles of select artists from Cave Art to Pop Art. Be the first group to start painting a permanent mural on the classroom walls of Rosebrook Art Center. Your names will go down in infamy! Week 2 June 22 – 26 Ages 4 and up. Fantastical Art! Learn origins of folk, fairy and myths (elves, fairies, unicorns, Pegasus, dragons, centaurs!). Put your imagination to work with all sorts of art supplies. Week 3 June 29th, 30th, and July 1st Ages 4 and up. Daily classes only: Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. Paint masks, learn scratch art and face paint each other! Week 4 July 8th and 9th Ages 10 and up. Register for both days for just $60 Serious artists only! Learn the value scale, different techniques for shading, and how to draw faces. *Your own sketch book is suggested but not required* Week 5 July 13 – 17 Ages 6 and up. International Art: This is for those who love 3-D art. Create African rain sticks and prints, Canadian scrimshaw (soap carving!), beautiful Russian/European eggs, Japanese Origami, perhaps a Mexican Piñata! Week 6 July 20 – 24 Ages 4 and up. Art and Nature: Learn the art of rock painting, paint a bird feeder, make a Beetle puppet, and create beautiful leaves out of clay. Week 7 July 27 – 31 Repeat of Week 1: Meet a new set of great masters, different than 1st week, and continue work on wall murals. Week 8 August 3 – 7 Repeat of Week 2: Fantastical Art. Same theme - different art projects. Join us for both weeks of Fantastical Art and no two projects will be the same. No make-up classes. Non-refundable deposit of $20 required with registration.
