The Herstory of Rosebrook

Rosalind (Rose) Gallagher Schneider founded the Rosebrook Art Center
in 1995 with the full support of her husband, Attorney Dave Schneider,
and her family.

The center is housed in a historic building. The three-story brick house,
located at 221 Main Street, Florence, Kentucky, was originally owned by
the first female doctor to practice in northern Kentucky. Dr. Helene Rouse
lived in and received her patients in this home when it was  built in 1926.

Now, thanks to Rose, hundreds of children and adults have enjoyed art
lessons in the same building. Also, many local artists have enjoyed
showing their work in Rosebrook's gallery and the citizens of Boone
County have benefited from the countless hours Rose donated to
the community.

Rose passed away April 29th, 2007. She is greatly missed by her family
and friends.

Her legacy continues today under the directorship of
Teresa Davis, Art
Therapist
and former owner of The Studio--Art for the Heart, llc. in Hebron,
KY.  Rose selected her based on their shared vision for the community.
The wonderful
STAFF and students share in the continuation of
Rose's gift.

Rose Schneider once said,
Teaching children has been a path that has led me to share
my love and knowledge of art with the present generation
and with those of the future.
